Abstract
The paper represents the results of establishing the statistical relationship between the content of germanium and mercury in coal seam c5 of the Blagodatna mine field of Western Donbas and the main features of their distribution were established for the assessment of possible environmental risks during the selective processing of coal enriched with mercury content. As a result of the research it was found that the correlation between germanium and mercury in the c5 coal seam of the Blagodatna mine is inverse and very weak. Besides a general feature of the distribution of germanium and mercury is non-compliance with the normal and lognormal laws and the polymodality of the distributions with a shift of the density kernels to the left. All these elements were accumulated in several forms, which differed significantly in their genesis. The existence of genetically different forms of germanium and mercury was revealed. The forms of their occurrence, which are responsible for the minimum contents, were jointly accumulated at the syngenetic stage.
