Phase and structural transformations in terms of liquid-phase sintering

Abstract
The regularities of phase and structural transformations in terms of diffusion composition changes in the pressed powder mixture of alloys, in which the concentration of the alloying elements is similar to the standard high-speed steel but different in the carbon content, were analyzed. The method of geometrical thermodynamics was applied to determine the diffusion streams at levelling the carbon concentration in the powder mixture during the heating and exposure at the temperature higher than the eutectic melting temperature. Certain regularities of carbide phase transformation during the sintering process, depending on its volume fraction and duration of exposure, were shown.
